Dr. Sketchy's Berlin September 2012: Part II

Here comes the second batch of drawings from my latest Dr. Sketchy's adventure. It's always such a visual overload (definitely the good kind though)! And the poses are mostly rather short. Impossible to catch all the little details of the fantastic costumes (and models)! And that decision: should I hurry and try to bring it all down to paper? Can I afford a second or two of pure visual indulgence? Of course, I could just focus on a smaller area to draw in detail, but then I'm too greedy, I must capture the whole scene (or die trying)...

This was the longest pose (the only one that lasted for 20 minutes) and I think it's my favorite, maybe.

This one was a shorter pose and for the "contest". We had to add some details to show why "those birds were kicked out of paradise" ("birds of paradise" was the theme of this session). I don't like it that much, though.

Yes, there even were soap bubbles! :)

Dr. Sketchy's Berlin September 2012

Oooh! I made it to another session of Dr. Sketchy's! This time featuring the fabulous Roxy Diamond and Marlene von Steenvag
I always find the 1-minute-poses at the beginning a little bit stressful, but on the other hand they're a terribly good way to practice letting go of perfectionism... Here's the first batch of my "results". The second half will follow as soon as I get around scanning them (exam stress - oh noes!).

Slutwalk

Today the Berlin Slutwalk took place. The organization of the event might have been far from perfect but the cause still is an important one which is why I threw myself into one of my slutty favorite outfits to participate. I'm so sick of having to take into account if I feel ready to bother with imbecile street harassment when I choose what to wear. A dress is not a yes. And it's sad that this needs to be pointed out.

NO can mean a whole lot of things.
NO as in
NOne of your business // NO, fuck off // NOt now // NOt ever // I have NO interest whatsoever in communicating with you // NOt this time // NO, leave me alone // ...
NO means NO.
NO never means yes. Unless otherwise noted.
It's really that easy.
Respect my decisions.

6:251a8c fanart

Here's some quick letter fanart for a friend who coincidentally is one of the most awesomest masters of... uh...  modern music? Go listen to some of his stuff here: 6:251a8c. He's also on facebook in case you wanna show your newfound love (or "liking") for him. ;)

He recently got a talent scholarship (or whatever that kinda thing is called) and will be going to some fancy school which means there'll be more of his wonderful parallel universe of music soon I hope! Also, he looks fantastic in skirts. So watch that sweetheart if you luuuurve good (electronic) music.

My neighbor's not Totoro

Here's my last-minute submission to Pamo's new zine (true story! Her call for submissions came just in time for me to process that experience...)

Still not completely sure about that neighbor of mine. Last Sunday night (or rather Monday morning) at around 1:30am he called me to ask if I wanted to have breakfast together - right now...

From zine release party back to earth

Ah, yes. Whenever you're about to fall victim to the naive idea that the world is the comfortable, fun, safe place that the queer zine release party you just attended would make you believe, there's always some "nice" guy around, ready to get your ass back to reality...

I hope that some day I will be able to be more courageous and actually tell people off for their douchebag behavior instead of just trying to quietly and quickly get the fuck out of the situation. I guess I just value my life too high to get into any trouble that could have been avoided. Even though, I wish I was a little less survival driven and a little more badass...

Now on to something more pleasant:
The zine that was released at the party is awesome! It's called "The Misadventures of Awkward Queers" and you might want to get it!
