See you in 2010! ♥

Ok, it's not true. In fact, I'm going to my unpredictable mountain-hut-with-strangers event and won't be back before next year or something. Wouldn't say no to New Year's Eve at Hogwarts, though. I got the idea for this picture from Frl. Zucker. She's such an amazing artist and a constant source of grrrly inspiration! I really hope she'll become Mädchenmannschaft's blog girl of the year.

Early New Year's resolutions

I'm not sure if I'll be home (or even close to a computer, not to mention internet access) tomorrow or on New Year's Eve, because I might be in a hut on some mountain with one person I barely and several people I don't at all know.
I usually don't do resolutions, but since we've already been talking procrastination issues and the like (and Christkind obviously couldn't be bothered to magically solve all my problems), I thought that 2010 might be a good year to start. Also, it'll presumably be a year with loads of quite important stuff happening for me, such as (hopefully) finishing my diploma thesis, having to decide on what to do with my life, figuring out what on earth I actually am (regarding sexual orientation) and so on. So here we go, my super optimistic New Year's resolutions:

  • Eventually pull myself together, take my last exam and finish my thesis. Soon. Really. I think I should make a precise schedule for this, setting dates and deadlines and stuff.
  • Find out if I'm a lesbian or what (gosh, I'd thought I'm too old for this identification issue self-discovery falderal). As soon as possible. In case the answer is "yes", come up with a smart plan what to tell my lovely boyfriends.
  • Eat less sugary crap. It's expensive and I need to win the stripper bet I made with my sister, who is absolutely convinced that I'll get diabetes within the next ten years. Loser pays the winner a hot stripper.
  • Take more time for drawing, painting, sewing and other artsy activities. I'd say this blog is at least a start.
  • Re-establish my daily yoga practise. I've become a bit neglectful with it lately. I wonder why I usually omit it in times when I would need it most.
  • Treat myself to a decent scanner.
  • Travel excessively after completing my degree. Have fun.
  • Make a plan what to do afterwards.

I'll probably need to specify these a bit for optimum-2010-results.

Girlgang Archive

I am pleased to announce that after a night of work yesterday (which I truely enjoyed) I finished my contribution for Frl. Zucker's incredibly awesome Girlgang Archive:

I really hope it reaches her in time, since the deadline is december 31st (I think this is the first time I sent something "priority"). It's embarassing that I can only do things so very last-minute. Even fun assignments! Shame on me. Plus, I just noticed in her last email that the submitted work should preferably be black/white. I'll have to work both on my serious procrastination issues and my inattentiveness. That's possibly also been the problem when I used to write answers totally unrelated to the questions during exams back in school.
Unfortunately, I guess it's too late to try to force you to participate. Therefore, the only thing left I can do is to tell you to go and get the fanzine she's going to make, including 100 of the submitted Favourite Female Role Models, until March 2010. Certainly, I will. Actually, I can't wait to see the result!

Just thinking...

I'm still not sure what this blog is going to be about (which is also why there isn't any description yet). I always wanted to have a blog. However, being convinced that I don't have anything important to say kept me from starting one. Until I realised a) what a deplorable thought that is and b) that many bloggers out there don't (only) publish "this-will-totally-change-the-world" stuff. So why shouldn't I add my little voice (and scribbles) to this big chaotic heap of information and opinions called the internet.
