Outspoken people at the airport and a New Home

Sorry for the poor quality (drawing and scanner-wise). I drew this in the plane and we had a rather turbulent, wiggly flight (it’s ok, I generally enjoy that actually, with my naive trust in science and technology). Also, the reduced pressure (?) did weird things with my ink brush pen - it bled like hell!

I’m visiting my family in Austria for a few days and won’t have a scanner after today. But I’ll try to draw some little comics which I can upload when I’m home again.
You'll find them at another place though! E*phi=log: (for various reasons) gets fused with ask-ephi and moves to a NEW HOME! I really hope you all come with me because I'd miss you a lot! Google forgot me (I hope)

Many of you have noticed that this blog has been set to "private" for quite a while now. I do not want to get too elaborate here but due to some sort of unfortunate accident Google found out about my full "real-life" name. This caused me a lot of sweat and made me think about what I want to be public about myself, whether I should start a new blog and/or "self-censor" my comics a bit more... I know that - even though I love to be very open with my comics and pictures - I'm somehow not so comfortable with the thought of my boss reading that I waxed my pussy for a BDSM party.
To cut a long story short, the wonderful people at femgeeks provided me with a lot of helpful information and also with kind, consoling words. In the end, a miracle happened and I actually found what linked my name to my blog and was able to remedy that connection... and after a while Google forgot about that link (I hope foreverandever).
So, yay! E*phi=log will be back! Thanks again to my femgeeky heroines (and sorry if I wasn't able to reply to every single one of you! You're in my heart and your help is so much appreciated!!)

Derby Nerdism

Since I was ill this weekend (and couldn't go to derby practice *cry*) I had plenty of time getting bored of lying around in my bed and looking for my good old polymer clay (which gets totally hard and crumbly if you don't store it well, kids! Learn from my mistaken life.). This is based on my actual skates (size is approximately half a thumb - I mean the part above that joint. You know what I mean. Maybe.):

I also scanned some quick'n'dirty sketches which I did at SKOD in Gent (I didn't draw as much as I had planned though - was too busy being all excited and screaming my heart out for the Bombshells and stuff.)

Roller Derby saved my soul. And plyo killed my body!

Last Wednesday was my first day of (roller derby) plyo training. When we were supposed to "just walk" around for cool-down it seemed as if the connection between my brain and my leg muscles had been broken. @_@
It's been several days now and my legs still feel super weird when I walk (read: oh the paiiiiinnn!!!111!). However, the hopeless masochist inside me can't wait till next Wednesday.

(I want to point out that I don't find anything intrinsically wrong with being a sex worker. Just found it a little weird as a first guess after me mentioning that I have a decently paid job...)

I changed my skates' wheels today and... OMG, so much manky lint and hair and... I don't really want to know what was all stuck there! The gym we skate in never seemed that dirty?

Regarding the Harry Potter audiofics: I've never really been into fanfics (too lazy not enough time to read all these pages), but since I found this site... (guilty pleasure alarm!! °////° )

It've got a similar thing with olives. I think they're absolutely disgusting but everytime I see some at a buffet I have to take a few because "these look kinda yummy". Just to find out that, yep, I still hate olives. Even these ones.

Still not sure how this seemed like a reasonable idea inside my head. Guess it happens to the best of us. (Maybe my brain was frozen.) Glad my boiler works again.

Finally spring! ... Not?

Last week we had really great weather, so  thought it was finally time to pack away my winter coat.

Maybe that was a little too optimistic.

I liked my nose. Until...

It took me so long to work up the courage for a septum piercing (always found it super hot, but: sharp instruments in the middle of my face, dude!!). Trying to cope with the cruel crushing of my dream through comics. *cry*

German women and their lazy hair

Last weekend at a yoga workshop I got to sit next to a delightful person. She was from Canada and it was interesting to compare our impressions and experiences of moving to Berlin, coming from two quite different places (one example: I thought I moved to Vegan Wonderland while she went back to eating meat because she found being vegetarian so difficult in Germany).

Now I can't help imagining all the women of Canada constantly running around with intricate beehives or something. (The lack of female German hairstyle never struck me as that obvious. But then, I think hairspray is made for fixing charcoal drawings...)

Friday night after work...

Mochi freaked me out! I have no idea how he made it out of the cage but I make extra sure to always very properly lock the doors from now on.
At least it doesn't seem he had been roaming free and doing mischief for long before I got home. The worst thing he did was mutilating my bananas.

The internet saves X-mas time

That's a question that just popped up in my head as I lit the first candle on my advent wreath. I'm really not sure. I'm "undenominational" (which means I can't identify with any institutionalized religion) I think the main attraction of X-mas for me has always been the kitschy cuddly family time that it means.
It's good to have the internet.
